X-men comics advice.. n e help?

hey so i have always wanted to buy comics lols im just 15 and so i wanted to get like x-men comics but theres just so many dif types and i bet the old ones are like collectors items and prob worth 1000 dollars haha so i was wondering if n e 1 had any advice for what genre or type of x-men comics i should get and for how much?
